Interview with Gerry Cramer: Top Clickbank Super Affiliate

Gerry Cramer is one of the top Clickbank affiliates…

In fact, he was the #1 affiliate of all Clickbank on many occasions.

This was enough for me to do this interview with him, to help all affiliate marketers especially new affiliates to gain some benefits from Gerry’s tips…

So without further ado, here’s my interview with Gerry Cramer…

Q1. Can you please tell us a little bit about your background and what led you to work as a full-time affiliate?

Gerry:
“I’ve done tons of stuff over the years. I got my start way back in 1999 in SEO. Later I did some consulting for businesses and entrepreneurs. Eventually, I started a software company and focused on that for years.

Honestly, though, I spent 15 years following my dream to achieve financial freedom, but I always felt like a warrior fighting in the trenches of the Internet battlefield day after day. I remember testing every conceivable path possible to earn a living online.

Many of my struggles led to dismal failures… while others led to thrilling victories but even my successes seemed short-lived and nearly impossible to replicate consistently. Then, about 5 years ago, I stumbled upon affiliate marketing. It just sort of popped up in my life…

…And I realized being an affiliate is so much easier, and paid traffic is so much faster than going through the long and difficult aspects of learning online marketing. Affiliate marketing with paid ads is a truly scalable, long-term business model, and I haven’t looked back since.”

Q2. How did you first make money when you started affiliate marketing?

Gerry:
“I first started doing ads, when a student reached out to me. I helped them create a campaign on Facebook and it really took off. I quickly realized I really had a knack for it. I had such a fast success that came on almost overnight, that it made sense to keep doing it, and that’s what I’ve been focusing on ever since.”

Q3. What are the biggest obstacles you faced to become the success you are today?

Gerry:
“The biggest obstacles have been the mindset. Overcoming the programming I was born with. Learning to understand that my reasons for failing were self-sabotage by my programming.

So, overcoming myself has been the biggest challenge, and build a mindset that can achieve anything I set my mind to. The technical stuff is never the big challenge… the mindset is the biggest challenge.”

Q4. How do you drive traffic to your affiliate sites or to a website of a merchant that you are promoting?

Gerry:
“Paid traffic…Ads.”

Q5. Apart from money, how has affiliate marketing affected your lifestyle?

Gerry:
“Time. It’s allowed me to achieve bigger results with less time. And time is the secret to freedom. It’s the key to experiencing freedom.

A lot of people make a lot of money and end up stuck at their desks all the time. You can make a ton of money and have no time but not enjoy it.”

Q6. How has affiliate marketing changed over the last few years, and how have you responded to these changes?

Gerry:
“I don’t really think it’s changed that much. It’s a constantly evolving world. It’s a constant ebb and flow. It changes all the time but nothing really changes.

There’s always a platform to run traffic to. There are always vendors that are creating better products.

I think the challenge is keeping ahead of the game and being aware of the next big product. Being aware of the best traffic platforms to promote from. Constantly evolving and growing your practice and your methods and coming to better understand your audience.

The big things never really change that much. When you learn the fundamentals, you don’t have to keep reinventing yourself all the time. Just stick with it.”

Q7. What mistakes have you made with your affiliate promotions/sites and what would you have done differently?

Gerry:
“Three things. I would take massive action from the start. I would stay laser-focused. And I wouldn’t give up too soon. My biggest mistakes revolved around not doing those three things. ”

Q8. If you were to begin from scratch again, what would you do?

Gerry:
“I would do exactly what we’re doing now.

Find a product that has a very passionate audience and use paid traffic to deliver them to the product that solves their big burning problem.

So, find the best vendor. Find the best affiliate offer. Create a new ad. Create a new landing page. And then I would be right back where I am within a few weeks or even days.

Q9. Last but not least, what is the one piece of advice you can give to affiliate beginners?

Gerry:
“Develop yourself first. I believe the biggest thing standing between you and your success is you. And unless you can conquer yourself, you can never conquer anything. Once you can conquer your own limiting beliefs and your own broken mindset, you can do anything.”
